HAPPY BIRTHDAY, ANASTASIA!

This month’s Tidbits Birthday Girl is Anastasia Casey, founder of IDCO Studio, a branding and web design agency for interior designers, and home blog The Identite Collective. Each month we celebrate an Austin entrepreneur on her special day.

Happy birthday! How many candles are you blowing out this year? 34.

How are you celebrating? Headed to London next week with my mom!

Best spot in town for celebratory cocktails?Mattie’s! I’m obsessed with their cocktails but the real star is the overall ambiance. Between views of the live oak trees and the well-designed historic interior, choosing where to sit is always the hardest part!

You’re the founder of home blog The Indentite Collective.

Tell us why you started IDCO Studio.I launched IDCO Studio to help brands craft an online presence that evoked the same emotive response as the physical spaces they design. Interior designers share my foundational belief that what makes a space memorable—whether tangible or digital—is not only how it looks, but how it feels.

Your favorite interior designers? No one reimagines a space quite like Jake Arnold. His work is an absolute masterclass in subdued drama, with a distinctly European-meets-California influence. Locally, I love Claire Brodyfor her unapologetically unique interiors. Describe your own home’s aesthetic.I’d say my style is best described as Modern English Cottage with a twist. I love to design with earthy tone-on-tone neutrals, can’t resist a good shiplap moment and always incorporate vintage. Favorite room in your house. We renovated our primary bath a few years back, and it’s my absolute favorite spot in the home. I’ve jokily named our shower the “archway to heaven” because it’s the most calming spot to unwind at the end of a long day. Three things you’re loving in interiors right now.Textured wall treatments, archway entrances, and the single open kitchen shelf. Your most special home decor object. My art collection is incredibly meaningful to me. Much of it was collected by my grandmother in the 40s while she was living in Paris, and it’s grown to include oil paintings and photographs I’ve picked up during my world travels, too.

What’s next for IDCO Studio? The word is finally out y’all: we started a podcast! At its core, The Interior Collective is a podcast for the business of beautiful living. Each week I’ll host interior designers and industry tastemakers for transparent conversations about the practical realities of running a creative business. We’ve nearly wrapped recording with our season one guests, and I can promise you it’s going to be SO unbelievably good.

Neighborhood you call home. We’re in Garrison Park and I’ve fallen in love with South Austin—it feels more like what central Austin used to feel like. Our office is just one mile down the road and it’s all super walkable.

Three local businesses you love supporting.Miranda Bennett: My go-to dresses, locally and ethically made. I love how many ways you can wear each piece. They wash and wear perfectly and keep me cool year-round.SUPPLY Showroom: A trade-only showroom offering thousands of colorful fabric and wallpaper selections from small boutique brands. It’s an inspiration goldmine and taking a look inside their shop is always worth a visit.Radio Coffee: This is our favorite hangout spot in Austin. There is live bluegrass on Mondays, and trivia, game nights and standup the rest of the week. Mornings, we get coffee and sit in the garden with breakfast tacos from the taco truck on-site, Veracruz.

Mantra you live by?Keep knocking. Someone will let you in.

What’s your sign?Taurus.

Breakfast, lunch, and dinner, where are we most likely to find you?El Chilito: the best breakfast burrito in town. I recommend the Cherrywood Burrito, no eggs, with the black roasted salsa. Trust me on this one.Soho House: Get the butter lettuce and avocado salad and add the salmon. Definitely get a side of fries to share.LORO: my absolute favorite restaurant in Austin, no question. The design, the food, the casual order-at-the-counter but still be-waited-on vibe is perfect.

First job ever?Waiting tables at Disneyland!@idco.studio
