If the chew fits. Trend-setting restaurants worth stepping out to.

Októ Montrose Collective
From the owners of excellent Israeli Rice Village mainstay Hamsa, Októ is a stunning new concept offering fresh dishes spanning the many cuisines of the Mediterranean. Perch at the horseshoe-shaped bar and observe a sophisticated clientele enjoying crab squid ink linguine, tuna tartare, olives and other snacks.

Drake’s Hollywood Montrose
Drake’s Hollywood, with concepts in West Hollywood and Dallas, arrives in Houston in the space formerly home to Underbelly. The dimly-lit lounge is inspired by old Hollywood with intricate murals, red leather banquettes and accents of plaid. Observe the glittering scene from the striking bar, where the menu is divided into “chilled nosh” and “warm noms,” steaks, chopped salads and Instagram-worthy sparkling desserts.

Plume Heights
Preen and strut through tapas-style lounge Plume, where the stunning interiors call for just one more cocktail. Consider the Rich and Dirty martini with blue cheese-stuffed olives or the Chili Kissed Avocado Margarita before sharing bites of savory meatballs and bacon-wrapped dates stuffed with stilton amongst zebra carpeting and walls adorned in deep-teal peacock feathers.

Credence Memorial
Chef Levi Goode of Goode Co. has unveiled Credence, home to an upscale Texas ranch-inspired menu, an open kitchen to watch menu items prepared with a dramatic live fire, and carved meats and chilled seafood wheeled out by cart. At Sidebar, the adjacent speakeasy lounge, patrons can start or wind down their evening with classic cocktails.
