Meet Rachel Dickerson, the organizing pro behind Sugar Land-based A Beautiful Mess.

Our story really begins with believing everyone’s home has its own unique “beautiful mess.” By working with us, clients can discover the hidden beauty in their homes and learn how to keep them organized and beautiful.
What areas of the home do people most request you organize?
Pantries and closets are the areas clients seem to need the most help with.
You’ve worked with Houston’s McNair family, Houston Life’s Courtney Zavala, and local blogger Nicole Kestenbaum. What are your favorite types of projects?
Closet makeovers! With my 20 years in the fashion industry, I simply love the aesthetics, color, and flow of an organized closet.
How do most people get overwhelmed when managing the organization of their homes?
They don’t know where to start or what to do! The most important thing to remember is that home organizing is a process. We help you start and find what works for you and your family. Clients can find great tips on our 101 Blog.
First thing you do when you meet with a new client?
During our in-person consultation, our team, pictured below, will walk through your home with you and assess your individual needs. We create a customized plan, answer any questions, calm the nerves and then if it’s a fit, you can book your job.

My garage! With so many ELFA systems to choose from, the hubby has been putting off getting the garage organized for way too long…eek!
Three products you can’t live without in your home organization.
Water Hyacinth Baskets, Turntable, and I just love The Home Edit’s Stackables…must haves!
If people feel stuck by the idea of organizing, moving, packing or unpacking, where should they begin?
Start small and get a solid plan together! Don’t try to tackle everything all at once or you’ll end up feeling even more stressed out. When in doubt, ask for help or contact us!
Favorite home design trends right now?
We just love designing our client’s homes in vintage finds, bold colors and naturally sustainable materials.
Favorite home organizing and decor stores?
The Container Store, CB2, Anthropologie and Pottery Barn.
Favorite home design show?
I love The Home Edit’s show on Netflix, pretty much anything HGTV and love Chip and Joanna’s old-school Fixer Upper.
Always in your bag when you arrive at a project?
Tape measure! It comes in handy and I always have a bag of snacks. Professional organizing, packing, unpacking, moving and interior design can be a lot of work! It’s important to stay focused and hydrated!
