Art Inspired by Pearl Farmers Market

Meet an artist who finds her muse in farmers markets.

Ever since declaring cucumber melon your scent in middle school, you've been surrounding yourself (and your home) with sweet fruits and veggies.

Keep things fresh with Texas artist Jan Heaton. Her latest collection, The Market, is inspired by trips to local farmers markets across the nation, including our very own at the Pearl Brewery. With abstract watercolor works reminiscent of everything from squash blossoms and cherries to vibrant watermelon radishes (pictured), this isn't your typical kitchen decor.

When life gives you lemons, decorate.Advertisement

Meet the artist at the opening reception of The Market exhibit at the Hunt Gallery of San Antonio this Thursday, September 29, from 6 - 8 p.m. The delicious show is on view through October 22.
