What a Wonderful Swirled

We are swooning over the marbled, handmade bags from Texas brand Archive Goods.

Despite sushi being one of your favorite food groups, your chopstick technique still only gets 1/3 of a roll from Shinsei in your mouth.

Just one of the reasons we're giving some serious respect to Texas artist Lauren Wexstaff of Archive Goods. Her mastering of the Japanese marbling method - Suminagashi - on her darling backpacks, wallets, bags and even eyeglass cases has us hooked. Using a floating ink technique, she ups the cool quotient on a mink oil-coated veg tan leather wallet - available in colors ranging from rose quartz to onyx - to create a marbled facade. For a subtle approach, opt for a carry-all tote that has swirly accents on the handles and trim.

Talk about raw talent.Advertisement
