It's been a while since you've gasped at an opening. Prepare yourself for the accessibly elegant Maison de la Luz, now open in the CBD. The new luxury guest house by Atelier Ace, the team behind Ace Hotel, features a six-story private sanctuary with 67 rooms suited for shut-eye when your head hits the bespoke outfitted bed nestled beneath the dreamy artwork of Rebecca Rebouche. The design considers NOLA as an intriguing Garden of Eden, with serpent decor moments snaking throughout. Sexy craft cocktail lounge Bar Marilou, pictured, is officially open for public consumption. Drop by daily for an apéritif happy hour and stay to digest the delicious red walls accented with pink floral paper, travel themed curiosities and animal print decor. Have keys to a room? A small portion of the bar, behind a secret bookcase door, opens back up to the hotel and a small guests-only lounge. Conviviality at its finest.
