See Inside Brand New DTB

Enjoy a trip to the bayou by way of the inventive plates and libations at DTB, opening today.

8201 Oak St.
New Orleans

You've got a cupboard filled with seahorse napkin rings and jute placemats just in case your long-time dream of owning a summer house comes to fruition.

You'll be hook, line and sinker for the gorgeous decor at DTB (short for "down the bayou") opening today on Oak Street. Designer Valerie Legras traveled along the bayou to gather decor elements like 300-pound steel wheels used to reel in fishing nets, which hang from the ceilings. As you gawk at the bar backed by mother of pearl oyster shell, communal white oak tables, deep green alligator upholstered banquettes and Spanish moss lighting accents, indulge in coastal cajun delights like crawfish profiteroles and vegan mushroom boudin balls. Toast with creative cocktails like the Brown Butter Old Fashioned and send yourself into sweet oblivion by sharing a slice of banana toffee cake.

It'll be a shell of a good time.
