From Preschool to Picasso

The Monster Project turns out professional renderings of kids' monster drawings.

A long run, a summer camp research session, a five-hour closet reorganization.
It's amazing how productive you can be when you're avoiding opening your credit card statement.
Sometimes it's best to just face your fears. Case in point: The Monster Project. The program, started by Austin artist Katie Johnson, takes kids' drawings of monsters and has them professionally recreated by artists all over the world. Currently the program is active in select Austin and Dallas schools, with plans to expand into other cities. The goal is that children will recognize the power of their imaginations and be encouraged to pursue their unique creative potential without holding back.
