Davidson Road Trip: Kindred

Kindred in Davidson is serving up Southern cuisine with a contemporary spin.

131 N Main St

Your Lilly for Target experience ended with a shift dress two sizes too small and a whole lot of scrapes and bruises.

Leave the masses behind and head north for a true culinary adventure at Kindred in Davidson. It's worth the quick 30-minute trip to be able to snag a seat at the chic restaurant that's the brainchild of adorable locals Joe and Katy Kindred. With a background in fine dining and a love of travel, the duo set out to set the city on fire with global tastes with a Southern edge. You'll go gaga over their menu choices - think duck fat potatoes, milk bread and housemade hot dogs, and won't be able to resist dessert - chocolate birthday cake with sprinkles is the perfect end to any meal. Their menu changes weekly, so you'll always have a reason to return.

A Pulitzer-worthy prize.
