Add Shoe Designer to Your Resume

Be a cobbler for a day at The Art of Shoes' sneaker-making class.

The Art of Shoes
1002 S. 1st St.

Your worst pair of shoes are the ones you wear when you actually work out.

For the gal who collects designer sneakers like some girls buy handbags, there's the shoe-making workshop at locally-owned boutique The Art of Shoes THIS Sun, Nov 4. To step into the S. 1st bungalow to become a designer and a cobbler for a day, call or DM the store now to make your reservation with your shoe size. (They're still taking spots, but the intimate workshop is filling up fast.) When you arrive, you'll be handed an insole, an outsole and a cobbler's holepunch. Choosing from patterned and solid leathers and threads, you'll borrow their machinery to cut, design and hand-stitch your very own sneakers to wear out of the shop. The 3-hour class is $150 including materials—some embellishments are extra.

Tread brightly.
