What a Wonderful Swirled

We are swooning over the marbled, handmade bags from local Archive Goods.

Despite sushi being one of your favorite food groups, your chopstick technique still only gets 1/3 of a roll from Botika in your mouth.

Just one of the reasons we're giving some serious respect to Boerne-based artist Lauren Wexstaff of Archive Goods. Her mastering of the Japanese marbling method - Suminagashi - on her darling backpacks, wallets, bags and even eyeglass cases has us hooked. Using a floating ink technique, she ups the cool quotient on a mink oil-coated veg tan leather wallet - available in colors ranging from rose quartz to onyx - to create a marbled facade. For a subtle approach, opt for a carry-all tote that has swirly accents on the handles and trim.

Talk about raw talent.Advertisement
