Top 5 Summer Wines

Here, the top 5 wines you should be sipping this summer, all part of Wine Week at Central Market.

You only drink on days that end in wine.

Lucky you, the corks are flying at Wine Week, kicking off today at Central Market. The in-store fest features samplings galore, wine pairing classes, visiting wine makers and, best of all, an epic sale. To help steer your cart in the right direction, we asked the in-house vino gurus the top five wines for this summer. Salud!

Mimi en Provence Rosé // A Provençal rosé with beautiful fruit flavors of strawberry and cherries - the perfect pairing for grilled shrimp, chicken or scallops. Also great well-chilled on the deck.

La Galope Rosé // A newcomer at Central Market that was an instant hit, this rosé has a lot of body and fruit and can stand in for either red or white wine for your summer table. Watermelon, strawberry and melon are the main notes with good acidity to refresh the palate and complement your girly brunch.

Chateau Carignan Cadillac // An outstanding Bordeaux from a terrific vintage, this is just the wine for burgers off the grill, steaks or BBQ. Easy-drinking with supple fruit flavors of raspberry and cherry. It would benefit from a slight chill if you are serving outdoors.

Mondavi Napa Fume Blanc // This 90-point wine is a seasonal fave. Half of this wine comes from vines planted in the 1960s - the old vines provide great depth of flavor. Very concentrated and complex with flavors of orange blossom, melon and pops of grapefruit zest in the finish.

Mija Sangria // A well-made sangria containing two ingredients: premium red wine and 100% real, unfiltered fruit juices from pomegranates, acai and blood oranges. Made to be served over ice, it's refreshing, finishes drier as red wine does, and pairs with everything on an al fresco menu.
