Just Don't Order a Cosmo

The hipster bartenders at The Esquire Tavern mix classic cocktails.

Everything's bigger in Texas. Beers. Bellies. Bridal parties.

And now bars. The Esquire Tavern - which just re-opened on the Riverwalk - brags that their beer-soaked wood bar is the longest in Texas. Saddle up post-parade and order a throw-back cocktail. Using egg whites, bitters, housemade sodas and sweet extras, hipster mixologist Jared pours drinks from another era. The speakeasy decor (moody lighting, comfy booths, vintage wallpaper) invites sharing secrets over French 75s. Come out of the shadows for a burger and fried apple pie on the patio with an eclectic mix of locals (and not many tourists).

Send the bachelorette brigade to Howl at the Moon. This place is for Lone Stars under _la luna_.
