A Thanksgiving Dry Run

Partake in a Southern dining experience at Pyre Provisions, now open in Covington.

Pyre Provisions
70437 Highway 21

You're about to be elbow to elbow with your in-laws at the holiday table.

Get a little practice in family-style fare at Pyre Provisions, now open in Covington. At the inviting spot—outfitted with white shiplap walls, warm wood accents, reams of butcher paper and large-scale, farm animal illustrations by local muralist Julianna Papa—you'll find classic Southern dishes and rustic meat preparations from seasoned chef Jeff Mattia. Enjoy shareable plates like the smoked duck hummus and cast iron roasted cauliflower, or opt for heartier bites of 18-hour smoked short ribs and house-brined organic chicken. Consider beer, wine or taking a pull from the daiquiri machines serving a bevy of buzzy concoctions like frozen whiskey smashes.

A great first run if you're used to keeping relatives at arm's length.
