Houston Chefs Battle Some of Austin's Best

Houston chefs battle some of Austin's best.

You dream of ditching your desk job and moving to Europe to make sweet love to a plate of pasta and swim in pools of pinot. Wake up, and book your tickets before they're gone to a palate paradise just down 290 - the third annual Austin FOOD & WINE Festival takes place April 25-27. The Capital City's beloved local chefs (like Top Chef Texas winner Paul Qui) are joining with Houston's favorites like Monica Pope, Chris Shepherd and Hugo Ortega, plus foodie phenoms from beyond Texas, for a two-day event sure to elevate your taste.
Taste of Texas // Jump-start your weekend on Friday with a gluttonous tasting from some of the best chefs in Texas, including Terrence Gallivan and Seth Siegel-Gardner of Pass & Provisions. Kick up your heels with live music from Escort, the award-winning 17-piece disco orchestra.
Savor Pass Private Grand Tasting // Savor Pass holders access the dishes at this gourmet event one hour before general ticket purchasers. Over 80 beverage and food vendors are participating, and you'll be able to mix and mingle with the best of 'em.
Rock Your Taco Showdown // A true battle of the best, top chefs from around the country compete in a Lone Star-style cooking competition. Support local toques Chris Shepherd of Underbelly and Monica Pope of Sparrow Bar + Cookshop as they strive to defeat reigning champion Tyson Cole of Uchi Houston.
