Art and Sole

Pop art under foot from local Joshua Bienko is the hottest thing this season. Come toast the hip artist.

Gum, Charmin and a clearance sticker from Mega Marshall's: uncool things to reveal on the bottom of your shoe.

Pop art from local Joshua Bienko? The hottest thing this season. The young, handsome College Station artist is turning heads with the extraordinary Warhol and Hirst depictions he paints on designer Christian Louboutin soles. His shoes, gallery-style coffee table books, prints and posters are all objects of desire.

You're invited to join us for Bienko's first solo show in Houston, curated by Barbara Davis at 4411 Montrose. We'll mingle with the hot young thing at the Artist's Reception Friday night, where he's hanging his shoes like artwork on the gallery walls. Hit the fierce fate to take in his site-specific mural and bombastic video installation, plus fashionable bites and "Stiletto" cocktails compliments of Fleming's.

Nothing wrong with a little art underfoot...

art meets fashion | cocktails | bites

Friday, September 30th, 7 - 9 p.m.
4411 Montrose Galleries, Level One
Get on the list.
