Now Open :: Namo

Namo opens next door to Pok The Raw Bar in West Village, and there's no tipping allowed.

3699 McKinney Ave #300

Your hobbies in college included skipping class for trips to Sephora.

In his free time, SMU student Brandon Cohanim hasn't done much.... except open two extremely-popular restaurants. The first was Pok the Raw Bar and, on Saturday, he'll debut his next-door hot spot, Namo. Both concepts are rooted around super-fresh fish. When you're able to snag a seat at one of the 20 seats around the modern bar, you'll find Namo's menu delightfully simple. Well-priced, 3-ingredient hand rolls, which Cohanim researched at Tokyo's most famous fish market, are made with flown-fresh-daily cuts like blue crab, salmon and yellowtail. To drink, there's nitrogen-infused, naturally-sweetened green tea on tap or, if you're feeling more festive, wine and beer for a small price point of $4, served in a small glass to match, a nod to traditional Japanese custom. An automatic 16% gratuity is included in every bill, with no additional tipping allowed.

Making this overachiever the freshest catch in class.
