SMU Grad to Watch :: Officina del Poggio

Inspired by her grandfather's vintage binocular cases, the SMU grad behind Officina del Poggio has updated the timeless, functional style.

If shopping were a sport, you'd be the safari guide.

It's all about the thrill of the find - get a closer look at the spring bag you'll soon be coveting. SMU alum Allison Hoeltzel, pictured center in Milan, is the creator of Officina del Poggio, her line of super-luxe leather goods inspired by her grandfather's collection of vintage binocular cases. Available locally and also carried by big-deal retailers like Moda Operandi and Goop's brick-and-mortar in L.A., her newest Italian-made collection of purses and totes marries metallics, exotic skins and silk tassels with the functionality of the utilitarian case.

When it comes to fashion, you're a hunter and a gatherer.

Available at Stanley Korshak and Market in Highland Park Village
