Orange Cake Is The New Crack

A sweet spring treat from Salvation Pizza.

All the cute aprons in the world haven't sparked the urge to sift, measure and frost like the women who share your family tree.
Dust off the teaspoons and give the stove another go with this delicious Orange Olive Oil Cake recipe we scored from Salvation Pizza, which you can also find on the menu at their new Rainey Street location. Pretty as a picture, it's the ideal delight to inspire a kitchen renaissance.
Bake what your momma gave ya.
3 cups all purpose flour
1 tbsp. baking powder
½ tsp. kosher salt
4 eggs separated
1 ¼ cup sugar
¾ cup olive oil
2 cups orange juice
1/3 cup candied orange peel
Mix all dry ingredients. Add eggs, sugar and olive oil mix until incorporated. Add juice and diced candied peel and continue to mix together. Transfer to another bowl and place egg whites in bowl and whip till firm. Fold whites into the cake batter that was separated, pour into bundt pan and bake until done at 375 degrees for 40 minutes.
