A Lawn To Fawn Over

Iconic Green Pastures reopens with the debut of new restaurant, Mattie’s.

Mattie's at Green Pastures
811 W Live Oak St.

You've been known to speak up at a staff meeting just because you're having a good hair day.

Just as proudly strutting their stuff are the peacocks roaming the lawn at the new iteration of Green Pastures, open after being shuttered for 13 months. The welcome mat to the iconic Austin landmark is now rolled out in the form of new restaurant Mattie’s. What to expect? Southern hospitality by the plate and cocktail glass and in the views from the Victorian-style porch. Gawk over the custom flocked peacock wallpaper while partaking in sustainable dishes created by Chef Joshua Thomas, who trained at Michelin restaurant Le Bernardin NYC under Eric Ripert. Make plans for Sunday brunch and enjoy throwback sips - the original milk punch is on the menu.

It's a plume with a view.
