Our Favorite Austin Moments of 2013

A look back before leaping forward.

With 2014 nipping at our toes, we wanted to take a look back at the Austin moments that helped define the year for each of us personally. A toast to the city where Tidbits started!

Amy Gabriel, Editor-In-Chief
Meeting the lead singer of Wild Belle, Natalie Bergman, in the bathroom during the ACL late show at Lamberts. She was the coolest girl to ever borrow my hairspray. It was like seeing a unicorn.

Pepper Ammann, Founder
When Forbes profiled Tidbits. I never dreamed a project I started as a 25-year-old could grow into 11 city editions, and was so flattered by the article. "...the Tidbits experience is alluring for both brands and entrepreneurial, social media-savvy designers because it is about access, exclusives and deep engagement."

Anne Campbell, Style Director
Attending local designer Gail Chovan's fashion show (pictured) with Camille Styles and Lauren Ford (Camille's soon-to-be editor-in-chief) at the Eastside's Delta Millworks.

Caroline Ittner, Market Leader
Getting engaged in my favorite neighborhood - the Eastside. With the proposal steps away from Quickie Pickie (which I visit almost daily), we celebrated with champagne in the garden of Blue Dahlia.

Amanda McArthur, Director of Events and Promotions
Being part of Team Tidbits' 21-mile SUP paddle crew benefiting Dam That Cancer. It was the most philanthropic way to justify a post-race margarita.

Jenny Murphy, Director of Partnerships
Chatting with the Man Repeller about her capsule collection for Neiman Marcus at Stylecaster's SXSW event at Wanderlust, then taking a pedicab with Anne and Pepper to recap over cocktails at the Four Seasons.

Christian Drake, Kidbits Editor-In-Chief
Taking Kidbits national! Our sweet little publication, Austin Kidbits, grew into a national Kidbits edition for hip moms across the country. (Subscribe to or share Kidbits and you'll be entered to win $1,000 of Le Creuset cookware!)

One thing sure to make our city even cooler in 2014? The arrival of b.cycle. The bike share concept launches tomorrow.
