Free Weights

We've found three great FREE workouts in Austin that are open to the public. Now you can tone your entire body without spending an arm and a leg.

Gym memberships, home workout equipment, workout wardrobe, motivational magazines pages you tape to the fridge--it's a high price to pay to stay fit. We've found three great FREE workouts in Austin that are open to the public. Now you can tone your entire body without spending an arm and a leg.

Under the Bridge
Test your endurance during the monthly boot camp hosted by Crossfit. Meet beneath the MoPac bridge on Town Lake near Austin High School and let the trainers take you through an hour long intro course on how the typical boot camps run. Just as there's safetly in numbers, there's also inspiration. It's a lot harder to leave mid-squat when 70 other people are toughing it out, too. The next workout is Saturday, January 31st, at 8:30 a.m. Don't miss it" />

Yogi Freebie
It's quitting time on Friday and all you want to do is relax. Before you camp out on the couch, make a B-line to Yoga Vida and sweat off your work week during the free hour-long, heated yoga class every Friday night at 6:30 p.m. The class gets packed, so grab a water bottle and a mat and cut out of work early enough to beat the end of the day traffic.

Light as a Feather, Stiffen your Core
If you are in the market for an intense hour-long core class, look no further than the parking lot at Jack and Adams. Held on Monday and Wednesdays at 5:30 p.m. (give or take a 10 minute lag time), you'll do a mix of planks, push-ups and crunches that will leave you crying. Bring a mat, some water and a prayer book--this workout is tough.
